Apparently, reading is now optional. Doing your own research, making your own decisions and having a mind of your own are completely unnecessary in American politics.
Here's the way it works - if you are republican and someone says something you don't like, blame Ed Schultz, Rachel Maddow and the liberal media . If you are liberal, it's ALL the fault of Limbaugh, Beck or "Faux" news.
Do any of you realize how stupid you sound when you do that? I personally think it should be a CoH violation to tell someone they "listen to too much Faux News" just because they disagree with you.
I point specifically to things like a) the Citizens United decision b) Ron Paul is a "racist" comments and c) Obama's "accomplishments" (either for OR against)
Can't you people see that there are NEWS outlets and there are political TALK SHOWS?
You want to know what the Supreme Court's JOB is? Do some research - and try THEIR OWN WEBSITE. You want to find out what Ron Paul stands for? Do some research. You want to look at Obama's accomplishments? Do some research.
I am sick and tired of blaming everything on Bush - or more likely, the Kochs. I am disgusted with Dr Paul being compared to the KKK and I am also done with Obama's "accomplishments" being twisted for and against.
For EVERY link someone gives me to Mother Jones, or HuffPo or Media Matters, I want to scream. Don't you know how facts and statistics can be twisted? Glenn Beck has a job because he's good at doing that. Ed Schultz has a job because he's good at doing that.
There are actual outlets there in cyberspace which can provide you with unbiased information. Try using them.
In the meantime - let it be known that when you invoke the "Faux News" mantra you sound like an idiot.
